Greina plateau, Switzerland
The Greina Plateau displays a variety of topographical, geological and botanical features. Fed by creeks, the area is characterised by lakes and moors. The vast primeval landscape is an almost meditative experience. The Greina region is an elevated plain, about six kilometres long and one kilometre wide. Its uniquely and exceptionally diverse biotopes are the reason that the Greina Plateau has been listed as a protected area in Switzerland's Federal Inventory of Landscapes and Natural Monuments of National Importance.
